With the recent success AMD has had with its new R9 series, many people are itching to get their hands on one. Bitcoin miners have also been snatching them up off store shelves at a rapid pace. So, if you are lucky enough to already have one, or are planning on getting an R9-290 or R9-290x, why not make sure you run it cooler then it can now? The XSPC Razor 290/290x water block is a great after market solution to get those load temps in check and eliminate all fan noise from the GPU.

Bisher konnten alle Kühler ausnahmslos mit ihrer Leistung überzeugen. Auch der Schönling im Testfeld glänzt nicht nur mit gutem Aussehen. Ganz im Gegenteil: in Sachen Kühlleistung kommt der Kühlblock aus dem Hause XSPC auf den ersten Platz. Die Kühlleistung ist hier wirklich enorm und lies uns beim Testlauf erst mal ungläubig auf die Zahlen starren. Zwar muss er sich in Sachen Durchfluss gegenüber allen anderen Kandidaten geschlagen geben, liefert aber auch hier ein sehr gutes Ergebnis ab. Der Preis ist in Anbetracht der Kühlleistung sowie dem Lieferumfang absolut gerechtfertigt. Eine wirklich tolle Leistung von XSPC.

To say that I was eagerly anticipating the arrival of this kit would be understating things. XSPC is well known in the enthusiast water cooling community with their products among the best in the market, as well as being some of the more affordable pieces. The kit itself was packed well, with all of the components well padded against harm. All parts were finely machined and without burrs or manufacturing defects of any kind, pointing to a high attention to detail on XSPC's part. And the kit itself included almost everything necessary to get the system up and running with little incident. XSPC even went the extra mile by including the LEDs necessary for back-lit effects and the hardware for hanging the radiator if desired. Performance-wise, the numbers speak for themselves with the XSPC kit able to hold its own against the other high-end cooler offerings.

Raystorm 750 EX280 Kit (English)→

Although it did take quite a bit of time for us to wrap this review in the end it was well worth it since the Raystorm 750 EX280 WaterCooling kit outperformed every other CPU Cooler in our database with ease and at just 52.4dBA of noise (the pump may get slightly noisier from air bubbles but that will go away). Of course one of the things i really like about custom watercooling kits is that you can use massive radiators up to 560mm in length whereas AIO solutions only come with radiators up to 260mm long so in a way the 280mm one we had in this test is far from the largest/best one available. Still thanks to the excellent craftsmanship by the people over at XSPC it did manage to keep our overclocked Intel Core I7 3930k @ 4GHz from crossing over 53 degrees Celsius at heavy load.

The XSPC Raystorm 750 EX240 kit doesn't feel like a bunch of components that have been bundled into a box. I really does feel like a well thought out and spec'd up custom cooling platform designed to work as it comes out of the box but with room to expand or tweak as required. You can add a real wow factor to your PC with this set and not be limited in terms of a CPU tower cooler footprint on your motherboard.

In terms of cool, the XSPC Photon Tube Reservoir is all that and more. The decision to lose the plastic in favour of glass was a huge boost in my eyes. While many may scoff at this, put a plastic cup next to a nice clear drinking glass and look at the difference. Glass has a much richer, reflective appearance and appears to be a much higher quality. This is exactly the same effect we see in the Photon, and pictures just don’t do it justice. It looks positively remarkable in person.

Talking about the raw cooling performance of the Raystorm 750 EX240 kit is the easy part; the benchmarks are laid out and it is easy to see that the kit cools as well as, or better than, any other solution in its class and price point. Under full load, stock, overclocked….it just doesn’t matter, the XSPC Raystorm 750 EX240 Kit came out on top every time in our tests.

The Razor GTX680 card is easy to install and use with its versatile multi-port connector allowing for unprecedented flexibility when hooking into a system's water loop. Its sleek looks, a black and copper combination, are heightened with the added LEDs giving the block and video card a pleasing edge-lit effect. Its performance numbers speak for themselves with load temps over 30C less than measured temps when using the stock air-based cooler.

The Raystorm 750 RS240 Kit may be XSPC’s “entry level” kit, but it feels and performs far beyond that. For the experienced user, it offers absolutely incredible value for the components included, and makes a great first kit for the novice. If you are thinking about going to an AiO to get into the liquid cooling game, you are doing yourself a huge disservice by not going to the XSPC Raystorm 750 RS240 instead.

Thanks to the mod zoo for another fantastic review.

The Photon series of tube reservoirs scream quality from the minute you take them out of the box, to the moment you install one in your build. The all GLASS tube of the Photon reservoirs is simply beautiful, and the aluminum mounting brackets just add more to the high class look and feel of the Photon reservoir. There is nothing out there that can match the Photon quality.

We find the XSPC Photon 270 Glass Tube Reservoir to be a great deal at $64.99. The quality, fit and finish is classy and with a full 1 year warranty, you really get great bang for your buck. While we had some minor gripes about the Photon 270, those concerns are either minor or subjective. Ultimately, the XSPC Photon 270 Glass Tube Reservoir deserves our Editors Choice Award.

Så er det blevet tid til, at samle op på det hele og konkluderer. Først og fremmest, har det været en sand fornøjelse for mig, at komme til at arbejde med vandkøling igen, og specielt fordi det har været så lækkert et kit, at arbejde med. Kvaliteten er helt i top, på alle komponenterne, og tilbehørspakken er super god. Dertil er ydelsen også i en liga for sig selv, hvilket den også gerne skulle være til prisen på 3000 danske kroner. Så det er altså ikke et billigt system.

It's so simple, and so good at what it does, that if you're in the market for a waterblock for your GTX Titan, then this is the one you should buy. Well, there isn't much else we can say. It looks fantastic. There is a cleanliness to the design that we admire. Rather than go for a big logo or some flashy graphic, it's taken the minimalist 'none more black' approach. Not only does this allow your GPU to harmonise with the system rather than dominate it, but because XSPC have wrapped the all-metal construction in an acrylic cover we can see a lot of talented artists treating it as a blank canvas to customise their systems still further.
